Really, I’d like to do more color commentary, but this again was a straightforward festival show with little stage patter on Lu’s part. Note that six of the 15 were different from Ft. Worth. She did reveal the full title of the upcoming September double release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone. Good work from Mark Humphreys on sound, Corey on monitors, Manny on guitar tech/Book pages management. Less Windy than Ft. Worth, where we got a faint whiff of the Stockyard action, reminding me of that fabled Billy Bob’s Lu show. More bracketed color commentary after Houston’s indoor full set, with the KBB, no doubt. . .
