Now that we are back home and i can sign in here again. Just a heads up to anyone already coming or those thinking about it -there will be two show that first weekend in Nov. The first of course is the 11/2 show at Pappy & Harriets and we also be doing a benefit show for KCSN on 11/3. This is third annual KCSN benefit show -the first year was Tom Petty and the second year was Jackson Browne. They are the only station locally that plays Lu on a regular basis. Should be a great weekend.

stoger et al – KCSN is the local college station on the Cal State Northridge campus. The benefit show would be held at the Valley Performing Arts Center on campus.

Last Friday night, Sept. 27, I attended a show at the Valley Performing Arts Center (VPAC), featuring EmmyLou Harris and Rodney Crowell. Accordingly, I can answer specific questions about the venue.

    A few items of interest:

There are 4 levels of seating: Orchestra, Parterre, Loge, & Balcony. Tickets are usually sold via Ticketmaster, with the “select your own seat” option. Each level provides traditional seating in rows, but also offers a single column of swivel seats on the left and right sides. These seats offer more personal space (no one behind or in front, and no seat touching you on the side except by swivel), but with the penalty of distance from the stage. These seats are prefixed by “X” in the charts: http://www.valleyperformingartscenter.org/visit/seating/vpac/

Refreshments are sold at several locations, but drinks may NOT be brought into the auditorium.

Spoken like a man with a lot of venue research behind him. . . Keep us updated, Paul, especially upon ticket sale start. And does anyone know if LA’s public transit system gets you there?

It’s on my way home from pioneertown, mr. s. I’m sure LA’s private transit system can get you there.

Lineup being announced right now. LA debut of The Rides (Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Barry Goldberg), Lucinda Williams, and LP. Should be another great one.

For those who haven’t obtained tickets yet. Since I got this through a friend who is a contributor to KCSN, I ask that you donate to KCSN to support great radio programming if you can.

Everyone please rest assured that Mr. Stoger is amply ticketed and will bring his popular reporting style to this show.

It seems like Mr. Still’s band and Lu are both headliners. I hope we get a full set from Lu. ❓
