TO ~ Is Lu set to play this Ohio River Throwdown? The press just went out on this event but I see no mention of Lu. I have a presale offer in my inbox thru Thursday.

    http://cincinnati.com/blogs/icymi/2013/07/08/inaugural-ohio-river-throwdown-will-celebrate-american-musics-roots/

The inaugural Ohio River Throwdown, a celebration of American music’s roots, will bring 11 bands to three stages at Riverbend Music Center on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Set to perform are Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Rides (with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Stephen Stills), JJ Grey & Mofro, Los Lobos, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Alejandro Escovedo, Beth Hart, J Roddy Walson And The Business, Pokey LaFarge, They Dynamites featuring Charles Walker, and JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound

Craft beer and bourbon tastings by Ohio Valley Beer and Wine and a cookout by Blue Grass Quality Meats and Kroger are included with ticket purchase. Gates will open at noon.

Reserved seat ticket packages, which include a reserved/guaranteed seat for both Riverbend Music Center and PNC Pavilion acts, are $73 (available while supplies last). General admission tickets are $53. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12 at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Riverbend.org, the venue box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

Oh my: this led me to check http://bristolrhythm.com and verify that Lu is still the home-page poster girl for the following weekend’s festival. I think she’s solid for the Champagne, IL guitar fest the weekend before Cincy also. Hope for your sake Lafayette that it’s a trifecta.

stoger ~ I still have plans to travel to Champaign , so IF Lu isn’t added to the Cincinnati show [stellar line-up], I will at least have Illinois.

Okay, that was too easy. 4th row, center section! I hope Lu gets added to the bill. 8)

Finally got the internet fixed so I can sign in here again. Unfortunately Lu won’t be playing at the Ohio River Throwdown. The routing just didn’t work. We will be in Champaign on 9/7 and Bristol on 9/20 (i think that’s the date now). The shows in between will be announced very soon. I think there will be at least a couple of very special shows. HINT: Which album is this year the 25th Anniversary of its original release?

But don’t forget Bearcat football, a musical sports weekend potentially. . .

PLUS I’ll be in stellar company [stoger] at Lu’s show in Champaign. I more than likely will go. The venue looks great and I have enough points to book a room fairly close to the venue… plus football. WIN WIN WIN!

I may have to just ask for additional kitchen passes the month of September.

Rock on, jock sister! Bristol isn’t far off I-75 either, just so you know.
