Aw shucks, Lafayette. Currently listening to the Kenneth Brian Band over breakfast in Calella, north of Barcelona. . . Multiple Forum members have opened their basements, guest rooms, and couches to me–but never before have I awakened on tour to a view of the Mediterranean Sea.

    1 Can’t Let Go
    2 Metal Firecracker
    3 Pineola
    4 Lake Charles
5 Stowaway in Your Heart [Lu mouths some of its words away from mike during instrumental lead-in, then nails it]
    6 Copenhagen
7 I Envy the Wind [Leila Downs seems no more known in Barcelona than in Santiago]
    8 Overtime
    9 I Lost It
10 Drunken Angel [Lu concludes that it is now her “signature song”]
11 Something Wicked… [Though the name of Ray Bradbury is spoken by an audience member, she doesn’t follow up and introduce the song this time]
    12 Hard Time Killing…
    13 Come On
    14 Essence
    15 Joy
    16 Honeybee

17Adios Corazon Amante [the name of Victoria Parra gets great response as Lu speaks of a Chilean childhood and getting turned on to her at age 10 or so]
18 Trying to Get to Heaven…
    19 Blessed [slooooow version]
    20 Get Right with God

So muchas gracias to Mercedes & Victor, a ka “blessed” and “bigsubi” for hosting me here, along with the great hospitality of tntracy, lafayette, tonyg and others through the months and years. Yo soy muy bien.

On to Basque country, by private vehicle. ..

TonyG, awake and posting at 8:24 Pacific time on a weekend? Pleasantly shocking. It´s happy hour here, big boy.

I had a golf lesson at 9 am so I was up at 7 Mr. S.

    Sangria for everyone!

The Subiranas trump me with the Mediterranean Sea and the Kenneth Brian band. How dare they! 😛

My basement has hosted Mellenheads, Lu*fanatics, and Americana musicians [The Believers]. Always a pleasure.

    Carry on road warrior.

Sangria! Did someone mention sangria? My summertime splurge.

Thanks for the report, stoger, as always.

    stoger, mighty fine reporting.

Can you shed a little light on this please ?
From Lucinda’s facebook there were a couple of blurry pictures with the caption ” Getting ready to go on stage ” and an impromtu Happy Dance took place. Lu and ? in the photos.

    thanks.

I took a quick look, lwj, but I’m afraid that even I am not privy to backstage, pre-show antics. Don’t you figure it’s the back of Doug’s head, since he is a guy who might be next to her when the time to go on stage comes? I have no other theory. Nice to see the mood was festive pre-“Can’t Let Go” in Barcelona, because it was not that way in Bilbao. . . .
