By chance did anyone see the Lucinda show on AXS TV last night. I knew nothing about it and trying to find where the show was from etc. Any info is appreciated.

Not me – I’ve never even heard of that channel (is it on DirecTV?). I sure would have liked to have seen it though! 😉

It is Mark Cuban’s new channel -I believe it is a renamed version of HDNET. They run a lot of concerts and music programming. It is channel 340 on DirecTv.

This is the description from AxsTV:

LUCINDA WILLIAMS – Known for her songs about love, heartbreak and desire, Lucinda Williams and her band perform personal favorites as well as newer tunes from her album World Without Tears. Be sure to catch Lucinda performing “Sweet Side”, “Joy” and “Those Three Days”.

I believe it is from the Soundstage that Lucinda taped in Chicago.

After a difficult day, back hurt, etc., did two gigs over the weekend, truck blew a radiator hose coming over the grade (end litany of complaints here)- voila! We were settling in for the evening and my wife looked at me with some subdued glee, pushed the tv button, and there she was Lucinda Williams, that is. Lu and band (at Soundstage, circa 2003) played about an hour on AXS tv. Most all songs from “World Without Tears” backed by Pettibone and Co. This station I believe IS owned by Mark Cuban, and they’ve been showing some interesting music shows recently, (including the 2012 Country Music Awards Show, the good one – East Nashville Alt Country or whatever they call it. Buddy Miller, Don Was, etc.). The GOOD thing, they tend to repeat these shows for a few months, so you can still see it. I don’t know who all carries it, we are on DISH network.

Lucinda has been a balm for me musically and as a songwriter. my wife and I do a duo called J Street Slim and the Leisurnaut. Very original with a few covers drom alt country or old blues, Dylan, Hiatt, and so forth. You can Hear little on Reverbnation.com/JStreet,or something like that. And I ALWAYS do a couple Lu tunes when we play out. We’re mostly local to San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles CA. Play wineries, fish markets and the like. Thank yo Lu, Tom and all here for your assistance in our lives. My first post here, been following for awhile.

J- Thanks for the info -very much appreciated. The 2003 Soundstage show is what I expected because of the songs that were mentioned. I’m a bit curious to find out how they got that particular show-and how they felt like they could play that without contacting me first. If they had I’m sure I would have said yes, but bypassing mgmt is not the right way to go about it.
Welcome to the forum -Lucinda have talked about making a road trip up there to central wine country–hopefully you’ll be playing somewhere when we do.
