{Long interlude while Lu bemoans technology and has tour manager Eric work on something on her lower back (“Are we just going to do this out here in public?”), Lu suggests monitors should be done the old-fashioned way and beomans her ear devices: she then wonders if she will get out of Texas alive and references the parallel lyric from Guy Clark’s “LA Freeway”. . .This is also the juncture at which she segues into “Some bitch stole my purse in Austin the other night.” Finally, she asks Doug to tell a story or sing a song to fill the time; he saunters up and no sooner says “This horse walked into a bar” than all seems well again, Doug shifts to “We’re back” and the show proceeds with. . .
