Thanks for the definitive schedule, TO. Greed compels me to wish there had been more shows in the SE, but I will be more than happy with the one show I do have within driving distance (I do not care for outdoor “festivals” – from a fan’s perspective, they are usually too much expense and effort for only a short set). So, Birmingham on the 23rd it is! 😀

For those other FF members entertaining a visit to Birmingham: “Stephens PAC” is the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of University of Alabama Birmingham. From the “Directions and Parking” page on their Web site:

The Alys Stephens Center is located at 1200 10th Avenue South, Birmingham, on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Parking is free and convenient.

The show is not yet listed on their calendar or on their list of “tickets available” events. Let the waiting, planning & anticipation begin! 😉

Spoken like a man with some experience of driving [rain-slicked?] Birmingham streets. . .

Cool. I have been to Alys Robinson before and it is a great place to see a show. Easy to get to as well. Looks like a middle of the week trip in January. Possibly Louisville the next night….

Yesss! Louisville is calling my name. Looks like it will bump the Birmingham trip. 🙁

Shazaam. Lu is playing The Space in Evanston. Awesome club – I saw Chuck Prophet with The Dunwells opening this past summer with my brother.

Yeah, I briefly considered that. But, Birmingham is a given, and, with Louisville the very next night, no way I am waking up early the morning after Birmingham & make the 6 hour drive…

I’m sure everyone is dying to know how I got a ticket to this show so soon. As Paul pointed out, one gets on the VIP email list at the Belly Up website to be sent links to presales. The presale was yesterday. I have still not received the link. I also noticed they post links to presales on their Facebook page (Stoger?), so I ‘liked” their page so that I would be so notified. Naturally, nothing has been posted there yet.

Diabolically, I followed the Snoop Dog presale link from their Facebook page yesterday late morning and magically entered presale land. There was a calendar there so I changed the date to January 9 and “voila”, I was at the Lu presale page and I bought a ticket. I have a ticket in hand so this must be legitimate. Maybe the ticket police will arrest me when I arrive. I am also not sure if “voila” should be in quotes above. I didn’t actually say that.

    Carry on.

Didja pick up a Snoop Dogg ticket while you were in the neighborhood? 😈 😆

I believe curmudgeon will always be Stoger’s middle name. Speaking of which, I found out one of my son’s teachers refers to him as such. I couldn’t help but think, hearing this from from my son’s friends, he was in good company with my Lu buds.
