I’m sure he will but in the meantime, this review from the Times Union was just posted.

Thanks lwj, though I would argue the two performers are less “disparate” than this person maintains. Still, Doug and Lu along for the closing ride thru Muhlenberg County has to be one for the ages. Photos anyone? I envy the Bostonians this Sabbath. Lefty, eh?

Sorry for the delay, gang. It was an excellent evening last night. The Palace is one of those old-timey, ornate wonders of days gone-by. The stage actually was two-tiered, with the performers occupying the upper portion. I could imagine a few Lu-natics dancing on the lower tier, IF that had been allowed (CB, TNT…). My friend Terry and I had second row, center section seats…outstanding.

    Setlist with some paraphrased comments:

    World w/o Tears
    People Talking
    CWOAGR
    Greenville
When I Look at the World
Tryin’ to Get to Heaven [Lucinda & Tom told me afterwards that one was for me — aw shucks, ma’am, thanks — I told Lucinda she owns that song; I think she liked hearing that.]
Blessed [after which Lucinda mentioned again what an honor it was for her to be with John Prine. Her words were quite heartfelt.]
    I Lost It
Drunken Angel [mentioned both Blaze & Townes; Blaze passed out on a pool table came up]
    Changed the Locks
    Killing Floor Blues
[More genuine affection expressed for John Prine — ‘We go back a ways; he’s an inspiration; I’m mesmerized by this man.’]
    Joy

After JP’s outstanding set, Lucinda came out to sing Paradise with him. I think she was a tad nervous, but it came off terrifically.

JP highlights for me were Souvenirs, Storm Windows & Sam Stone.

Terry & I had a nice visit with Lucinda & Tom at a local watering hole afterwards. Talked about interior decorating & furniture, getting a bunch of us Lu-natics together one day to see a show, and Lucinda’s genuine concern for JP’s overall health. Good stuff! 🙂

Amen to both comments. I missed the last big Lu-natic night at First Avenue.

Thanks for fine comments, Lefty. Any letdown while at the merch table? No literary reading before the show? Count me in for any mass Forum fan gathering.

I got the impression from Lucinda that there really wasn’t much time to rehearse a duet(s) with JP. She sang the lyrics to “Paradise” holding a scrap of paper in her hand. Regardless, she did great, and it was a nice closer to the evening. I did tell Lucinda afterwards that I was hoping she and JP would do “Angel from Montgomery.” She just smiled in reply. 🙂

CB: Both Lucinda & Tom responded enthusiastically to a Friendly Forum group gathering at a future show. That needs to be a New Year’s resolution for 2013! 💡

LWj: Actually, Terry bought me a scotch on the rocks while we waited for Lu & crew to show up at the bar. I was scotchless when we chatted with L&T. Was enjoying the conversation too much to bother hoisting a glass!

Met the multi-talented Matt at the merch table after the show, Professor. Didn’t see him at the tavern afterwards, for which I’m sorry. A very nice guy. Acquired a lt blue “Blessed” tee for my ladyfriend. Traffic was light at the table; maybe business was brisk at intermission.

Your attendance, sir, at any future group gathering is mandatory! 🙂
