Lucinda, throughout the years I have enjoyed listening and taking too heart much of your art – deciding to share of yourself, in such a heartfelt manner causes in me the desire to share
the below is a poem I wrote to my Mother for her birthday – I am sure she would not mind (seeing us from Heaven) that I now share it with you & your other fans & friends
“JUNK DRAWER”
slide open the time capsule
peer at what is, was, and may be
dull finish, glint of light
triggering memories, present to past
a key for a lock, possibly
cents of history shine from crud
screws, nails, tape affixes the ages
needle with thread repairs the soul
photo of youth embracing maturity
edges bent, glossy marred
both frozen, revealing timeless joy
melts the despair, the fatigue
deeper below
discover the ring, simple ‘n scarred
cracker jack lent
your heart surges, remembering
cycles of time plummet then soar
events combines with objects
soothing passages of reality
Destiny fulfilled
The drawer resumes its slumber
D.B. Reising
thank you for sharing so much of yourself with so many……
