Just a preamble for those lucky people attending the concert today, and perhaps Lu and Doug will perform “Here in California”
From “Treasures Left Behind Remembering Kate Wolf”
Red House Records 1998
Listen to Lu’s cover followed by Kate’s original. Beautiful lyrics.

A terrific crowd (I was told 4000+) contributed to a great energy from top to a bottom. It was a rousing finish on Get RIght with Wavy Gravy and Jimmy LaFave, an old friend from Austin joining in and the crowd on their feet. A great way to close out a great weekend run.
Really happy that the new songs are going over great -very excited about these new songs -there’s a lot more but some of them need a little more work, but I’m sure there will be more appearing in the coming shows -actually Lu and Doug did rehearse an additional one in Big Sur but she decided to wait on it.

Jimmy LaFave put a radio outtake of a Woody Guthrie song, with Lu singing harmony, on his double album of such bits & pieces whose name I don’t remember. The song itself had the word “Oklahoma” in it, with lots of dust bowl imagery. Current brain cell count fails me again.
“On to Redding,” not a bad mantra for the other side of the stage either. Misread that as “Otis Redding” briefly. . .
