Next week, Thursday Oct 13, will see Lu receiving an award for Lifetime Achievement in Songwriting at the AMA’s.
I’m really looking forward to her accepting this award and trying to channel the person she has chosen to present to her the very cool individual designed awards given to each recipient.
I’m guessing Lu will pick Emmy Lou Harris with a strong Roseanne Cash or Jim Lauderdale in the running.
October 7, 2011 at 2:11 am #48372tntracyParticipantWell, Lafayette, I know you, me & two other FF members will be on hand at the Ryman next Thursday night to witness this special & well-deserved event. 😉
How about any one else? Are there any other FF members planning on being there?

October 9, 2011 at 5:12 pm #48376LWjettaParticipantFor those other than the “Four Horsemen” who can’t make it to the Ryman, tune in to NPR.
NPR Music’s Ann Powers and Folk Alley’s Jessie Scott will host a live webcast of the event starting at 6 PM ET at npr.org.
For folks in and around Nashville, the show will also be broadcast live on Nashville Public Television NPT Channel 8 to the Middle Tennessee viewing area.
An edited version of the award show will air across the US November 19 as a special episode of the PBS series Austin City Limits.lwj

The buzz after the show was that she was one of the best of the night. Greg Allman was a surprise and real good. He is playing the Ryman in Jan. 2012. Looking forward to Memphis tomorrow night. Hopefully get to hear the Dylan cover. Will be a long drive.

KellyOctober 14, 2011 at 6:06 am #48383dr winston oboogieParticipantSearched the web this morning for reports about awards show, found nothing of great detail until I came here, thanks to LWjetta for posting that great report, only thing here in the UK has been Bob Harris radio show this week and next week, was good last night, will be even better next week.
Congrats to Lucinda for such a well deserved award, it really pains me that so many people this side of the pond are not aware of her and the superb music she has brought us over the years.
Congrats of course also to Tom, the band and the whole team involved, hope you all had a great night and do not need to long to recover, and hope to see you soon…October 15, 2011 at 2:34 pm #48384LWjettaParticipant“Blessed” with Buddy Miller at the Ryman Auditorium.
