I just got back from the Holyoke show and I’m pissed. This is the 3rd Lucinda show Iv’e seen just after they Play NYC, and once again it seems that they had a blast and shot there load in NYC, leaving us once again with the Hangover show, and tonight was sub par and cut way short. I Love you guys but WTF ??

FYI, Lu’s set was shorter than for her typical headlining shows due to the fact it was a co-bill with Amos Lee. Both Amos & Lu were scheduled to each play for only an hour & 15 minutes or so…

The Holyoke show was also my 3rd Lucinda show and I too was disappointed – not quite as upset as Gypsyphoto but still disappointed. The set list included only a few of my favorites but there were some real gems. Lu opened the show with a rockin, high energy Can’t let Go and Copenhagen was awesome> The encore of Blessed and Get Right with God were cool but I wanted more. I understand it is hard to please everyone but I wish lu would S can some of the ex-lover songs. What’s up with the endless guitar riffs on most songs? This is lucinda Williams and not Neil Young, right? Enough bitchin – I’ll give Lu a pass – the night was really hot and humid and she was really feeling the heat no doubt. What surprised me the most about the night was the great performance by Amos Lee – count me as a new fan. We thought he stole the show!

OK I realize I am a ‘Cheerleader’ so am obviously biased…but I thought it was a good show- good setlist, a really nice venue. Don’t know what other songs the downers wanted but I was happy with the show.

I had previously posted here complaining about short shows and the whole Amos Lee co headlining thing, but the length was fine; and Amos Lee I am now a fan of.

To put in perspective I saw Allison Krausse the following night- it was a great show but my GF and I both agreed we thought Lucinda was a better show and regretted not making the drive to NH.
