    Comments:

No opening act. Doors at 7, Lucinda started at 8:55, played till about 10:40. While waiting for the show to begin, restless audience members amused themselves by walking up to the stage, and taking phone-camera photos of the setlist pasted near Lu’s songbook stand.

Show was all seated, with the front tables perpendicular to the stage, similar to the first Park West show several years ago.

Thanks for the recap, Paul! My brother chose the wrong night to attend as I see “Angel” made the setlist.

I regret as I see “Where Is My Love?” made the list! A day late and a dollar short.

My 2 cents…tonight’s show was one of those special nights. I’m a sucker for the ballads…transendent, beautiful night of music. Easily, one of my top Lu concerts ever. Thank you, Lucinda, David, Butch, and Blake.

Glad to see you broke your streak, Paul–fully expect to see you at those two California shows in late June, even with some rockers and more recent material to be expected, your second and third consecutive Lucinda live appearances. You seem pleased, though neither “The Night’s too Long” nor “Everything Has Changed” made the cut. Have to agree with lafayette that “Where is My Love” might have been the pinnacle of that set. Paul, surely you must have joined the ranks of cellphone owners with camera capability by now. Trust you didn’t bump your shins against the railing, given that house configuration. Here’s to a much needed respite for Lu and the great band/crew (easy for a fan to say, given the numerous 2011 summer and fall choices which are popping up!).

Last night was truly magical. I agree that “Where is My Love” was probably the show-stopper of the evening. Though the performance of “Well, Well, Well” was done quite well, and I always enjoy that song more live than on Little Honey. “Lake Charles” continues to be a favorite of mine live, and her delivery was fantastic, truly fantastic throughout the night.

I’d never seen her perform Hendrix’s “Angel” before, and it just gave me chills. Especially when she stopped playing on the last chorus. Haunting!

I know I don’t comment on here much, and I’m sure none of you know me, but I’ve been a fan for such a long time and I’ve been able to seen Lu about 15 times over the years (I know, a drop in the bucket compared to some of you) but just wanted to throw my two cents in.

It was fantastic…truly no words to describe the sound and the silence at the same time. The sound of the music and Lucinda, and the complete silence of the audience.

Thanks again to all for bringing all the latest set lists and news to this side of the pond, we would be lost without you all, and special thanks to Paul for this show which looks and by all accounts was really special.
This one would make a super DVD, so come on TomO give us a little glimmer of hope that we can also enjoy Lucinda at her best, as the news on a possible Europe tour leg seems to have dried up. đŸ˜„

I thought both night in Chicago were great but there was something very special on Sun. night. It was the first time I’ve ever gone to our front of house and asked him to make me a copy of the recording as soon as he could. The band was great but her singing was just fantastic -like a jazz musician being in complete control of their instrument. Her tone, her vibrato and her emotion -the sound in the room–everything was just dead on. She said to me after the show that on Where Is My Love she felt like Billie Holliday. Considering this came after a run of 25 shows in about 30 days it was just incredible. I’m very anxious to hear the rough cd of the show but it won’t be for a while as this was the last show of the leg and i probably won’t get it until we get back out.
Oh yeah also- the version of Angel was not on the setlist that night -it was suggested by Mr. Sutton before she went back out, so it was just completely decided on the spot–the a capella ending was completely spontaneous and was something I had never seen her do before. Great stuff.

My thoughts exactly, Tom. I have been to over a dozen shows at the Park West and this was my 10th Lucinda show. There was something special in that room from the outset. The sound was incredible. Lu sounded great and so did the band. Get Right With God was amazing. On a side note, my wife won our tickets from you on Facebook. It also happened to be our 28th wedding anniversary. It was a night we will always remember.

    Dear Tom,
Please find a way to make this show available. I was blessed to catch a handful of shows this tour, and in my humble opinion, Sunday’s show is worthy of official release. All the shows were good, but this night had a heavy dose of the x-factor… moments that transcend space and time, when the music plays the band, and everyone in the room is along for the ride. Great stuff indeed.
    Thanks for all you do.
    Blessed

From Lu’s Facebook ,a collection of photos, actual set list and some comments.

    One comment.
The band sounds truly awesome with the newest member, Blake, who is on lead guitar. Lucinda appears very pleased with the band, as she refers to Blake as “fresh blood”. Love it! Blake impressed us with his haunting and dreamlike sounds from the guitar when they did “Born To Be Loved”. Great song – bluesy and deep.

It must have been a special night indeed and it would be great to have Tom O make the recording available some day.

TomO I would love to see or even hear this show, is there any chance of a DVD (that would be great) or at least an audio becoming available for us Lucinda starved fans ?
