Lu and her band came out smokin. Early on she talked about making the set Louisiana centric. She had the crowd mesmerized with her singing and playing. She and the band were able to rock so hard, and then bring it down for her ballads. Incredible dynamics all evening before an appreciative, but still raucous crowd.I had a chance to visit with Blake after the show and he is one amazing player. I was with an old friend who had worked extensively with David Gilmour and Pink Floyd from early 70’s on, and he mentioned to Blake that if he closed his eyes he heard Gilmour. Very tasty, classy player who does not play the normal licks..
We had a chance to visit with Lu after and she was so gracious and generous with her time even tho she was on a tight schedule. Had to give of all big hugs, because “it’s a Southern thing”. I gladly hugged her back. Such a sweetie, the real deal and a gentle soul. Lu come back soon.

Nice post, FC — thanks for taking the time. Hope one day to see Blake in action. “The Ugly Truth” is my “Well,Well,Well” for 2011.
