And, yes, Over The Rhine is on the road at present (I checked weeks ago wondering if they would perhaps make an appearance,) however their schedule is open July 15, at least on their website. 😮 In regards to listening to their tunes prior to Ohio, a little trivia thrown in here. Cincinnati’s PNC Pavillion (formerly National City Pavillion), the host of Lucinda Williams / Amos Lee in Cincinnati in July, opened with a sold out show with Over The Rhine playing their double album Ohio in its entirety. One of the brightest lights among today’s singer-songwriters had a sellout crowd on its feet during her last visit here two years ago. It was an honor meeting with you before the show, for beers for me, and wine for you. I liked your strategy to stay in the bar until we saw the line starting to form in front of the bar. We were dry under the awning in line, while Lafayette got a bit rained on further up in the line. But thank you so much Lafayette for saving us a spot at the stage.

I loved the song selection, many all time favorites. I think her voice sounded great, smooth, especially after 3 continuous days of shows. I think Bus to Baton Rouge was my favorite of the night. Especially the part about the front room couches with plastic on them noone was allowed to sit on. Reminds me of my childhood.

I’ll have to find another show to go to soon, Chicago?

I grabbed a City Beat newspaper to stay relatively dry while standing in line in addition to the two guys standing behind me that shared their umbrella. They told me they had tickets to see The Decemberists in Columbus, but once they heard Lu was in Cincinnati, they had to see her in lieu of the Columbus event. I then shared with them the news Lu would be back around with Amos in July and to look for tickets to go on sale as well.

No problem on saving a spot at the stage, stevarino. My pleasure even if my neck is a bit craned from that very high stage. I forgot how high it was. The acoustics in that place, or should i say the sound, was most excellent.

Lu had on the same black garb as the Indy show, different boustier, and some kicking Gringo boots (not the studded ones), plain with a strap and buckle.

I’m convinced the skull guitar strap is Swarovski crystals. Mesmerizing. Beautiful.

Not much more to add to stoger’s account. I’m looking forward to hearing how the rest of the tour develops and I have high hopes to make it to Chicago to see the “Fruits Of Their Labor” Perhaps I’ll see you there stevarino.
