New to the board..not new to Lucinda, and wondering where the great Doug Pettibone is.. The new cd has some very intense ,blistering solos. Great guitar work! I thought it was Pettibone, but he’s not there. Will he be touring with Lucinda? “Blessed” is very infectious. Beware before you purchase it.

Doug is touring Europe with Marianne Faithfull. He did not play on “Blessed”. I would not rule him out of working with LW in the future.

P.S. Doug plays on every track on Marianne Faithfull’s new CD Horses and High Heels and co-wrote 2 of the songs.

P.P.S. Val McCallum is the guitarist on “Blessed”.

Doug left the band towards the end of the Little Honey tour as far as I can remember.

I believe his last show was November 21, 2008, at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. That was the final show of that tour.

I was there, as well as the night before at the Ventura Theater in Ventura. The final show had some good guests. Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs joined Buick 6 for a great version of Cinnamon Girl.

I really liked Buick Six’s version of Cinnamon Girl at the Columbus show. They also did a song they called “White Kitty” which was a rockin cover of Zeppelin’s Black Dog. Am I digressing from topic?

Doug played a couple of shows with Lu this past fall (Bridge School Benefit, Mountain Winery, etc.), and with the whole band, including Val, on NYE at the Viper Room, so he’s around.

I’m really looking forward to hearing the new guitarist in Atlanta next week. Every axe man has something new to bring to the table.

    Oh, goody! 😀

I’ve just realized that I haven’t seen Lu since the Little Honey tour, so it’s been a while. This will be the first time I’ve seen her without Doug since….2000? 2001? It will be a new adventure, to be sure. I’m so glad to read the reports that Blake has come on strong.
