Rough Trade "Test Pressing" of Self-Titled LP

Check this unique item out!

It appeared on eBay a couple of days ago. It is a “test pressing” by Rough Trade Records of Lu’s Lucinda WIlliams album on LP from September, 1988!!! 😯 It was being offered for sale by Rockaway Records in LA.

Too pricey for my blood, I wanted to post it up here in case someone else was interested. But, knowing of Lu & Tom’s archive of Lu memorabilia, I wanted to give them “right of first refusal”. So, I sent Tom an e-mail with the link. Well, talk about “small worlds”! Here’s his reply:

Lucinda used to work at this store so I’m wondering how they got it -she said she was working there in 88 and she doesn’t know how they got it.
I emailed them and asked them to take it and that I would come and get it when we got back to town.
Hopefully they’ll do that.

As you can now see, the auction has ended with the message, “This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available”, so it is being held by the record store for Lu & Tom. I hope they have a cool story about how they got it & we get to hear it here!
