    Kitchen Musicians plan fest fundraiser

What’s the best way to raise money for a folk festival?

Hold a tribute concert to honor renowned folk artists.

That formula seems to work for the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association, the group that organizes the annual Tucson Folk Festival.

This year they will tip their collective hats to John Prine and Lucinda Williams in a concert they bill as “A Family-Friendly Tucson Folk Festival Fundraiser.”

A roster of local artists – Joel Dvoskin, Phil Borzillo, Maria Pakulis, Kevin Pakulis, Don Simpson, Robert Oser, Deuce of Hearts, Duncan Stitt, Kevin Schramm, Charles Breaux, Wayback Machine, Linda Lou Reed, Ron Pandy & John Jensen, Eb Eberlein, Stefan George, Ruff Mix and Ronaldo Walker – will perform the songs of Williams and Prine from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The concert will be at the Boondocks Lounge, 3306 N. First Ave. Admission is $7; $5 for association members at the door. And it’s an all-ages event.

This year’s 26th annual Tucson Folk Festival is set for April 30 and May 1 on stages downtown. For more information, see http://www.tucsonfolkfest.org.
