IF THIS HAS BEEN COVERED – I APOLOGIZE – FIRST TIME IN THE FORUM ROOM.
ARE THESE SHOWS SOLO SHOWS?February 8, 2011 at 9:42 pm #45557TOverbyParticipantNo- they will be with the band.
February 8, 2011 at 9:45 pm #45558casciereParticipantTHANKS – HOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE TOUR – HOW DO YOU TELL IF SHE IS WITH THE BAND OR SOLO – TICKETMASTER IS NOT REAL HELPFUL.
ALSO, IS THE BAND GOING TO BE BUICK 6 AGAIN? I SAW THEM IN GREENSBORO NC LAST TOUR.February 8, 2011 at 9:53 pm #45559tonygKeymasterAll the shows from Toronto going forward are with the band, I gather.
February 8, 2011 at 10:00 pm #45560TOverbyParticipantYes -right now all of the shows that are scheduled going forward are with the band- with the exception of 2 shows at the Blue Door in OKC at the end of March.
The band will be Buick 6 -Butch, David and the second leg (April /May) will include a new permanent guitar player who we hope will be with us for the forseeable future.

First, welcome to the forum!
Second, the last I heard here, tonyg is correct. Put another way, all shows up to, but not including, the Toronto shows on March 4th & 5th will be solo shows.
And, per TOverby in a previous post, the band will be Val McCallum on lead guitar, and former Buick 6 members David Sutton on bass & Butch Norton on drums.
Tom
EDIT: Looks like from TO’s post above, someone will be replacing Val after Asheville & before Atlanta. Interesting – I wonder who it will be? ❓
February 8, 2011 at 10:08 pm #45562TOverbyParticipantYes -that is the band for the March shows, but Val is not able to commit to the rest of the year so we will have a new guitar player in April and beyond.
As I’m sure I will be asked, it will not be Doug Pettibone either as Doug also had prior commitments.February 9, 2011 at 3:16 am #45563West WordsParticipantTomO said “Yes -that is the band for the March shows, but Val is not able to commit to the rest of the year so we will have a new guitar player in April and beyond.”
By any wild chance, would you consider Chuck Prophet? He is an incredible guitarist, AND he could also be an invigorating and inspring opening act. 😀
In the interest of full disclosure, he is my second favorite artist
, and this would cut my travel expenses in half… 😉 😀 February 9, 2011 at 3:20 am #45564tntracyParticipant@West Words wrote:

It’s not easy bringing in a new guitar player and having him need to learn almost a hundred songs -as Lu likes to be able to play anything at any time. We do have some great candidates coming in to audition this week, so we’ll find the guy.

Good luck!

How many have run away in tears after they’ve seen the size of “The Book”? …which may even have spawned into two binders by now… 😀
From the fans’ perspective though, we love “The Book”, because on any given night you never know what suprise gem might be played. 🙂

“the guy” or the gal? I say that not out of any abstract PC gender consciousness, but because a certain Aussie twelve-string slingstress told me “I’d take it” if offered. However, she does her “own thing” and does it well, as TonyG will confirm for us on the 24th of the month. Still, she might not refuse a formal audition, though she is Down Under in her homeland touring this week.
