After much discussion, cursing and arm twisting etc. it looks like we’ve finally have an album cover-I should say covers. The deluxe version of Blessed will have 8 different covers, the single cd will have a different cover from the deluxe and the vinyl will also have a separate cover. The covers are all from a series of pictures that we have been taking over the last 4 months. What started as a basic idea has taken on some legs of its own and turned into a very interesting project– including some great film footage that may turn into a mini-documentary or video. We will be incorporating it into complete makeover of the website which is the next big thing on the to-do list. Speaking of that -if anyone has seen any cool things on other website or has any ideas, please feel free to make suggestions.

Can’t quite put my finger on where, but I heard somewhere that Wilco has some cool stuff on their web site… 😉

Thanks for the update on the album cover(s) / art work, TO.

Tom O, thanks for the update.
Here are a few cool web sites to look at.
    Elvis Costello
Spin the wheel on the menu just like Wheel of Fortune to hear/ view Elvis’ songs / hand written notes. Very clever.

Very colorful graphics.-See the expanded categories in their forum called The Orchard). I like the Tour Diary one, much like you started during Lu’s tour to Australia. Hint, purchase their new album “The Long Surrender” and immediately download the music.

I like the simplicity of their web site-looks like the type font used came from an old IBM Selectric.
Also Arcade Fire issued their new album “The Suburbs” (Nominated for this year’s Grammy’s Album of the Year) with eight different covers at random. One problem with that was when I went to Best Buy last Summer on record release day to purchase the CD I couldn’t decide on which cover to pick.
Tom O, for the “Blessed” deluxe version, consider an 8″ X 14″ fold up page in the jewel case with all the various covers.=hence a nice souvenir.

A very colorful and up to date site.

Will there be a “Super Deluxe” box set on 3/1/2011 ?

I wonder if my better half will understand multiple Lucinda William’s “Blessed” purchases?

If he’s anything like mine, no, nope, NO WAY! And I am speaking from past experience here, having HAD to buy the import versions of World Without Tears (Australia) and West (Japan) to get bonus tracks not available on the U.S. editions… 😉

LW–The super deluxe is up in the air as we speak, and if it happens it would not be available on 3/1. I will provide any update on that front asap. If we do end up doing one I will do something so the music would be available on 3/1 but not the package. The cover process took a little longer than we hoped, and caused a delay in the discussion about a super deluxe. I do want to do it so stay tuned.

Thanks for the website suggestions I will check them out.

remember when people used to just release an album? I’ve always loathed multiple covers, special editions, etc. but thats just the nature of the business these days.

I’m well. Bummed that I won’t be able to catch Lucinda on this upcoming tour. I’ll be in LA during the Erie, PA show. I’ll be on a plane coming home during the Toronto shows and Ithaca is just a tad too far!
