Here we have Lu singing with Over the Rhine in West Hollywood on Friday night.

lwjShades of her appearance there a couple of Januarys ago to sit in with The North Mississippi All-Stars: historic venue indeed! Thanks for ferreting this out, lwj. I’ve never seen OTR live but was introduced to them by a Lu fan a few years ago. Here’s to spousal duos–and their guests!
At the end of his show this afternoon, my favorite WNKU host played “Essence.” It reminded me to shoot him an email about Lu’s appearance with OTR. I am going to listen tomorrow as time allows, with hopes I’ll hear a twofer of Lu & OTR with a mention of Lu’s appearance. 😀
Today, my favorite music host played “Undamned,” (the record doesn’t release until next February), AND mentioned Lu had joined OTR at the Troubadour. 😛 The recorded version is hauntingly beautiful, just amazing.
Then, he spun “Long Way To The Top” mentioning it was a cut from the #1 record voted by fans in WNKU’s Top 89 albums of 2008.
This on top of hearing earlier in the morning, “Honeybee,” with the morning host mentioning The Heartless Bastards opened for Lu and she (the host) was going to be bold, go out on a limb and say she thought Lu was channeling Erika Wennerstrom in that number. I thought of you, Lefty.
