Kasey Chambers’ new album, “Little Bird”, was released today in Australia (it’s already the 17th there! 😉 ). Has any one heard if / when it will be released in the U.S.? You can order it from her Web site, but it is $25 ($30 for a deluxe version w/ bonus tracks & a DVD), but that’s too pricey for me.
It’s available on iTunes, too, but for $17! 😯 Besides, I want a CD if possible, not just a digital download…
I’m willing to wait to spend less $$$, but would like to know how long I’ll have to wait! Thanks for any info! (I tried Google – no joy…)

Seems very pricey for two tracks, something doesn’t compute.

Can’t find a US release date yet for the full CD.

Somebody will put it out here soon. A lot of times they will release records in the home country first to prevent importing.

lwjthat’s how much we pay for all our albums over here! and the $AUD is currently above 90 US cents and looks like it might reach parity…. Can’t complain though our unemployment rate is only 5% and we largely avoided recession in the GFC.
The album is very good but it is much more “pop” than her previous work with husband shane nicholson. It’s more like Kasey’s older stuff, actually reminds me of her first (brilliant) album “the captain” more than anything.
The first single (and title track) is charming and a grower and a good indication of what the rest of the album is like.
I’m going to see Kasey in October in a charming little theatre in Bendigo. She’s always great live.
Wow, darkhouse, those are some expensive CD prices! Amazon.com in the U.S. often charges between US$8.99 to US$13.99 for new releases. If they would ship to Australia, it might still be cheaper w/ the shipping charges! 😯
I LOVE The Captain (as well as Barricades & Brickwalls) & am therefore sure I would love the new album. My resolve is starting to wear down – I wish I knew if / when Little Bird will be released here in the States!
My wife & I saw Kasey here in Atlanta, GA several years ago. It was indeed a great show!

i was in high school when the captain came out and it used to be on heavy rotation during teenage drinking sessions chillin on friends’ farms.
i think kasey has really been back in form over the last couple of albums

Yup. In fact, that is how I “discovered” Kasey. We tuned in to that PBS Soundstage telecast in ’03 to see Lu & loved Kasey’s opening performance…

Little Bird is finally being released in the U.S. tomorrow (July 12th). Amazon.com has the MP3 download available today for only $3.99 for the entire album! Also, they have the CD for $15.87…
