a man and a smiling skeleton (or two skeletons maybe) and the inscription “el romantic”. i could barely see any other detail for the picture the seller on the ebay provided was very small.

great illustration, but i couldn’t find anything about it. does anybody know who created it?

    it’s a very beautiful t-shirt.

Sounds like the same illustration as on the back cover of Essence. The liner notes credit the illustration (“El Romantic / Amor”) to Doug Jasso, Kansas City, Missouri, hand colored by Joe King Carrasco, http://www.joeking.com …

(Here is a link to an online reprint of the liner notes.)

I found another illustration by Doug Jasso, this one on the cover of the book Dancing with the Devil Society and Cultural Poetics in Mexican-American South Texas by José E. Limón (the credit is on the rear cover of the book)…

thanks for the info, tom. now i realize what a dumb question it was. essence is one of her albuns i have yet to purchase. i expected more flowers on the back cover, but i should have guessed.
