July 18, 2010 at 2:57 pm #43896LWjettaParticipantHere is a recent radio interview ( 12 minutes ) from WFPK Radio Louiseville.
The new “Fidelity” album due next month was written in the penthouse of an old hotel in Havana, Cuba.

lwjJuly 22, 2010 at 3:07 am #43897West WordsParticipantI can’t wait to talk with Pretenders’ fans who are unfamiliar with Lu’s work, to see what they think of Lucinda after they hear her perform. (Speaking as a Pretenders’ fan who found Lucinda when Chrissie cut way back on recording when her kids were little back in the 90’s. The song that first snared me was Metal Firecracker.)
Here are the songs I think they would like best, not in any order:
Right in Time
2 Kool 2 Be 4Gotten
Metal Firecracker
Little Rock Star
Real Love
If Wishes Were Horses
Real Live Bleeding Fingers
Righteously
Those Three Days
Crescent City
Rescue
Essence
Out of Touch
Are You DownI thought this was going to be a shorter list until I got to thinking about it.
And the more I’m thinking about this, the more I am hoping some of the venues don’t have curfews… 😀
July 29, 2010 at 5:35 pm #43898LafayetteParticipantJP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys are making a special appearance, interview and performance, at the Grammy Museum in LA on Aug 23. Information follows. This appearance is “sold out,” however, some tix could become available.

Monday, August 23, 2010; 8:00pmBe among the first to hear Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde and Welsh singer/songwriter JP Jones discuss their hotly-anticipated debut CD, Fidelity! (La Mina Records/Rocket Science Ventures), the day before its release. Before an intimate audience of 200 in the Museum’s Clive Davis Theater, hear Hynde and Jones in conversation with Executive Director Robert Santelli about the inspiration, creative influences, and collaboration behind the new project. Following the interview, Hynde and Jones will take questions from the audience and, for one of the first times, perform a few songs from the album.
Doors open at 7:30pm. American Express presale tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com starting Thursday, July 22, 2010. Ticket purchase also includes a copy of the new album. American Express is the exclusive payment method for presale tickets. All proceeds benefit The GRAMMY Museum.

What a bargain-Alas I don’t have an Amex card 👿 and I’m not going out west like some lucky forum members.

lwjAugust 4, 2010 at 8:24 pm #43900paul_from_losangelesParticipantTwo recent items of interest from www.jpchrissie.com:
1. The ensemble for Lucinda’s shows will be an acoustic trio of JP, Chrissie, and Patrick, as from the KCRW video.
2. Starting in mid-September, they are touring for 28 shows in 45 nights. Check out the schedule from the “SHOWS” tab.

Great news paul_from_losangeles, I’ll be able to see JP & Chrissie with the full band on Fri. Oct. 1st. at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY( only a 20 minute drive to this venue for me) and the show will take place in the tiered style theatre, The Bear’s Den-not a bad seat in the house as I’ve been there before.
I enjoyed the link you provided.JP & Chrissie are very innovative in their naming of items just like Lucinda.
e.g.The new album “Fidelity” was so named because of all the Fidel signs and posters they saw while in Cuba and I like the name of their own record label La Mina (animal spelled backwords)I’ll bet hopefully for those lucky Friendly Forum members attending Lu’s show @ the Crest in Sacremento on Fidelity’s release date of Aug. 24th ,they can get a deal on JP & Chrissie’s new album. I wonder if Susannah (with an h ) will be the merchandise gal.
lwjAugust 6, 2010 at 11:38 pm #43902tntracyParticipantPollstar has posted an article about JP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys’ Fall tour which begins after the shows Chrissie & J.P. open for Lu…
