Great show by Jim Lauderdale last night at Harriet and Pappy’s in Pioneertown, Ca, out in the lonely desert near Joshua Tree. The band played 3 hours! Jim played songs from his new CD and stuff from the past. He had a great band backing him; Doug Pettibone on guitar, Dusty Wakeman on bass, Greg Leisz on pedal steel, Mitch Marine on drums. The website was well represented by myself and the legendary Stellabluee. Everyone had a great time.

What a terrific image: Wonderful music in the lonely desert…. Yeah, Jim Lauderdale was terrific helping to lead Elvis Costello and the Sugarcanes a few weeks ago in Boston (and with LWs in Somerville back in the early CWOGR tour w/Kenny Vaughn), all without drums making it that much more authentic and difficult to play–would’ve loved to see him with Doug P and Dusty W along with a steel. Nice. It makes me think about switching up the current players for LWs…
