Anne says on Facebook she will be playing at Irelands 32 in Van Nuys Wednesday night. It’s an Irish Pub. Sounds like fun. Anyone else going?
April 29, 2010 at 3:57 am #43017LafayetteParticipantTony, let us knwo if you go. Today, on my NPR station, my guy spun a song from her “Koala Motel” CD. He proceeded to chat, as he typically does, singing her praises and saying she was overdue for releasing a record.
WELL, I shot him an email and told him she was releasing a record, sent him to her website touting the new single and video, and put a bug in his ear to schedule her for a Studio 89 session, a live in studio session where artists perform and chat, aired live.
One can only hope. I’ve seen some live footage of her on YouTube. Looks like she can really rock it.
April 29, 2010 at 2:49 pm #43018tonygKeymasterGood work Lafayette,
I went to the bar last night and saw Anne. She was fantastic. She wailed away on guitar like crazy. Scheduled to play last night was a band called 29 Mules. The drummer is a guy she has recorded with, Dave Raven. 29 Mules played an opening set until about 10:40. Anne took the stage during their break with Raven on drums, Dusty Wakeman on bass, and a guy named Kyle (it turns out his name is Carl) on keys. She played for almost an hour. I would say she played 3 or 4 songs from the new CD, 4 songs from Koala Motel, and the rest from other albums. Half the crowd came to see her, the other half had no idea who she was. Everyone was on their feet by the end of her set.
I talked to her before and after and she was very sweet as always. She was passing through town on her way to Palm Desert from San Fran and got her pals together for a jam. She must be exhausted since she just got back from Europe. A late night on a work night but I’m very glad I went.

May 12, 2010 at 12:32 am #43020LWjettaParticipantFor those who are unable to attend a live performance of Anne, here for your viewing pleasure is a full 67 minute professionally recorded concert in very high quality. It took place at the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, OH on August 29, 2009.
Anne is sporting pigtails and wearing a neat hat.
There is excellent and comical dialogue with the audience.
Loved her lap steel at the 49 minute spot of the video.
You will not find this on You Tube.
It comes compliments of Vimeo.com and I discovered this site while looking for Heartless Bastards videos.
Do a search of the site for your favorite artist and see what comes up.
I’ve already found Lucinda, Jim Lauderdale, Heartless Bastards and the Arcade Fire.In the meantime watch Anne.

A couple of comments before you watch this delightful video.
Anne said she was searching Kori on You Tube and remarked ” Someone has finally covered one of my songs”.Kori gets taught a lesson about her guitar-Can’t have it plugged in twice.
Enjoy the blues.

lwjJune 14, 2010 at 9:13 pm #43025LWjettaParticipantMore Anne McCue News.
Filmmaker Melissa Donovan recently flew to Nashville to shoot Anne’s CD launch of “Broken Promise Land” and is currently editing the footage for a live DVD.You can view some photos from Anne’s Facebook page.
By the way, I looked back in history on Anne’s website and a DVD was to have been made following her 25 night tour with Lucinda way back in 2002.
Can’t find this DVD. wonder if it was ever completed?lwj
July 8, 2010 at 11:50 am #43026LWjettaParticipantHere is a quote on what Anne twittered 3 days ago on her web site.
Chrissie Hynde AND Lucinda Williams! Are you kidding? I’d love to be the little opening act for that one….
And for you lap steel fans, here is our Aussie gal recorded live recently in superb quality video. “Hangman” is the tune. See how innovative musicians are with their “modified” instruments. Anne is using a piece of copper pipe on the lap steel strings, kinda reminds me of Gurf “beer bottle” Morlix at ACL.
