In my continuing efforts to acquire every Lu guest appearance / duet / cover, I just received a copy of Chip Taylor’s 2001 release Black And Blue America. Lu is featured prominently on this album, singing two duets with Mr. Taylor – “Could I Live With This” & “The Ship”. Both songs are beautiful & highly recommended…
Only 3 tracks to go & my list is complete!

You beat me to it TOverby.
Tnt-Let us know and we will do some research.

Do you also have this duet with Chip and Lu?
“The Ghost of Phil Sinclair”

In addition to the just-revealed “Don’t Let Me Down” (I need to update the list on Lu’s Wikipedia page w/ that one!), I am currently missing:
“The Ghost of Phil Sinclair” from The London Sessions Bootleg by Chip Taylor (as mentioned above by LWJ)
“This Dirty Little Town” from Dead Reckoning by Kieran Kane
“Burning Desire” from Sage Advice by The Band of Blacky RanchetteBut, I just found a new copy of Sage Advice on Amazon Marketplace for $3.50 (plus $3.00 shipping), so I ordered it. Once it arrives, I’ll be back to 3!
Tom
P.S. Thanks for the update, Tom – please let me know if you find others I’m missing!
EDIT: Just bought the digital download of “Don’t Let Me Down” from Amazon for 99ยข… ๐

Here are 2 different versions $0.99 Mp3’s from Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic/?tag=httpmogcom-20&index=digital-music&field-keywords=Kieran Kane+This Dirty Little Town
These are karioke (sp?) versions. I don’t hear Lu in the short sample.I suppose, the next thing you are going to ask me for is the video.
Here it is from CMT with Emmy Lou and Luhttp://www.getalyric.com/mp3/lyrics/songs/kieran_kane-4247/dead_rekoning-13924/dirty_little_town-75061/

No, I don’t “do” karaoke versions – no vocals! ๐ Only the original will do, but thanks any way!

Actually, no, I wasn’t – but thanks nonetheless! (Videos do not have high enough quality audio…)
Thanks for the effort, LWJ, but trust me, I’ve already checked Amazon & iTunes Music Store for downloads of the 2 tracks I am still missing! In addition, I have found copies of the CDs for both on Amazon and / or eBay, but I am hoping for a cheaper alternative… ๐

Tnt, try this from Amazon.UK for just the clip.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chip-Taylors-London-Sessions-Bootleg/dp/B001KRHTCOAlso, try this direct from Kieran Kane’s web site for a single track of “This Dirty Little Town” $0.99
Just click on the album cover for “Dead Reckoning”

January 29, 2010 at 9:27 pm #42041tntracyParticipantThanks for the links, LWJ. I found a new copy of the Kieran Kane CD on eBay for $7.99 w/ free shipping, so that is on the way to me as I type this. No need for the digital download in that case.
That would leave the Chip Taylor CD – based on my research, Lu was featured on only one song, “The Ghost of Phil Sinclair”, but according to that Amazon UK download list, she also sings on two other tracks, “Head First” & “Annie On Your Mind” – I can hear her on the clip for the first, but not on the second.
Too bad these are available for download on the UK site, but not the US. I do have an account on Amazon UK, however – I have purchased a couple CDs from them not available in the States – the shipping is surprisingly not too, too bad. I wonder if that will let me do a digital download? Hmmmm… (EDIT: Nope! ๐ฅ )

January 29, 2010 at 9:48 pm #42042tntracyParticipantWow! According to everything else I have seen on the Internet, Chip Taylor’s “The London Sessions Bootleg” is OOP, but I just ordered a brand new copy from the label, Train Wreck Records, for $12 plus $2 shipping! Not bad for a “rare” 2-CD set! And, in light of the fact Lu is apparently on 3 tracks, not just the one, plus my liking what I heard of the rest of the album from the Amazon UK clips, I kind of wanted the whole album anyway, so that works!
Well, barring any additions, it looks like my list is complete once I get these CDs in the mail!

That’s great. Glad your list will be complete, of course until the next one.
I suppose for Amazon. UK, if you were really stuck, you could always ask dr winston oboogie for his help.lwj

Thanks, and thanks for your help. Yes, I am nearly certain that there are others out there not on my list – given Lu’s long career & her widespread respect & admiration from other artists, she has participated on a lot of recordings…
