Does Lucinda have a song in the new movie Crazy Heart? I thought I saw her name in the credits and the song “Joy,” but I don’t remember hearing the song in the movie. Crazy Heart by the way is a beautiful, bittersweet movie, that champions country music, I think Lucinda fans would like it. Jeff Bridges is phenomenal. Robert Duvall also shines in a small part.

Was it a good movie? I want to see it.January 12, 2010 at 10:41 pm #41948TOverbyParticipantI believe the song plays in the background in one of the scenes -I think a bar scene, and yes it is definitely on the soundtrack.

ParkerCA, I definitely recommend the movie. It’s about transformation. And Jeff Bridges is a wonder in it.January 14, 2010 at 6:16 pm #41950LafayetteParticipantInfo on the movie and soundtrack:

You could wait for “Crazy Heart” to be released on DVD, but unless you own a superb sound system, you’ll miss part of what makes this movie so good.
With original music written by T Bone Burnett and Stephen Bruton, plus songs from the likes of George Jones, Lucinda Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Ryan Bingham who appears in the movie as the leader of a back-up band, the soundtrack breathes authenticity.

I tend to like cliched movies so, I think I’ll like this one. 😉 And, while I have a decent sound system at home (but no HDTV), I’ll take the other reviewer’s advice & check it out on the big screen. Maybe this afternoon…

P.S. I just checked out the soundtrack offerings (to be released January 19th) at Amazon. According to them, while “Joy” did not make it onto the “regular” soundtrack CD, it is on the “Limited Deluxe Edition” for $2 more…
January 23, 2010 at 6:48 pm #41953spiderssnakesParticipantI’m going to have to see that flick:)
January 23, 2010 at 7:06 pm #41954tntracyParticipantYeah, I still want to see it but, after posting my comment above, I found out it is no longer showing at theaters here (it is currently at only one in the Atlanta area that is not at all convenient to me). So, DVD at home it will be!
