Here is a train ride Gurf took from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Churchill Manitoba on the shores of Hudson Bay in November, 2008 to the Polar Bear capital of the world with Fred Eaglesmith and other musicians.
Roots on Rails is a musical train ride. Earlier in the year Lafayette posted a link for the Cinci based band “Over the Rhine” wherein our Lucinda recorded a song called “Undamned” for Over the Rhine’s new album.to be released in Jan./11. Over the Rhine takes to the train this fall out of LA.
I just posted today under Kathleen Edwards an adventure boat trip also organized by Roots on Rails and Fred Eaglesmith.
So why not show you some polar bears.Gurf Morlix 2008 Polar Bear Train.jpg[/attachment:fu5o3qkg]Polar Bear Churchill, MB.jpg[/attachment:fu5o3qkg]
What a novel way to attend a travelling concert if you have the $$$$$

Today, I tuned into my favorite NPR station to hear my favorite music host talking about Gurf & Lucinda as he had just spun a Blaze Foley cover by Gurf. He was chatting about Steve Earle recording at Belmont Mall (JM’s studio) and then launched into a Larry Crane tune (guitar extraordinare for JM back in the day). I was hoping for a JM tune after that BUT had to exit car to continue running errands. I just looked at the playlist and apparently he spun JM before the Blaze tune and Steve & Lucinda (You’re Still Standing There) before JM. My guy was jamming today.

Anyway, was anyone aware of this Blaze Foley cover record by Gurf?
