I came across an interview with David Gray (my wife’s favorite musician) today and noticed an interesting question and answer. The full interview is here: http://blogs.denverpost.com/reverb/2009/10/29/interview-david-gray/ but here’s the relevant quote:
You’re not really known for collaborating with other singers, but who are other artists you’d be interested in singing with.
I did enjoy it a lot, and if Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen or Robert Smith of the Cure want to swing by while I’m making the next record, I would love to have them out here.
I must admit, I can’t quite envision what a Lucinda/David Gray collaboration would sound like, but I’d love to hear it!
BTW, he puts on a great show. We’ve seen him three times, most recently in Chicago at the end of October (sadly, he and Dylan were in town on the same night and given how rarely he tours the U.S., David Gray had to take precedence!), and he was really great. Just found out about a Milwaukee show this coming March, and I’m excited.
