With the addition of a 9/18 show in Mpls all of the dates posted in the other thread are correct and are the 30th Anniversary Shows previously mentioned in these parts. The format of the shows will be:
The 2-Night shows (Toronto)
Night 1-Set 1: Selections from Ramblin’, Happy Woman Blues and Lucinda Williams
Night 1-Set 2: Selections from Sweet Old World, Car Wheels
Night 2-Set 1: Selections from Essence, World Without Tears
Night 2-Set 2: Selections from West, Little HoneyThe 3-Night shows (New York, Chicago)
Night 1-Set 1: Selections from Ramblin’, Happy Woman Blues and Lucinda Wiliams
Night 2-Set 1: Selections from Sweet Old World, Car Wheels and Essence
Night 3-Set 1: Selections from World Without Tears, West and Little HoneyThe second set each night will be a set from the entire catalog, similar to 2nd sets from the album shows in 2007
There may be additional 30th Anniversary shows on the west coast in Feb. but that is still tentative.
More details to follow.July 29, 2009 at 2:30 pm #40398tntracyParticipantAwesome, Tom – thanks for posting up the details.

July 30, 2009 at 5:21 am #40397aliParticipantSounds awesome you guys! After I win the Australian Powerball lottery jackpot of $80Mill tonight I’ll be booking my tickets.. 😆
July 31, 2009 at 8:59 pm #40369tntracyParticipantLooking at Lu’s tour date list at High Road Touring today, I noticed something interesting. The 30th anniversary dates in NYC have the phrase “An Evening With” associated with them, while all other dates have the typical “100% Headline” that is always there when Lu is indeed the headliner.
So, what’s this mean? “An Evening With” whom? Is / are there going to be special guest(s) at the NYC shows? Inquiring minds wish to know… 😉

(Does anyone know how Live Nation pre-sales work? Password?) Also, it doesn’t give specifics, but there appears to be a discount if you buy tickets for all 3 NYC shows. Woo-hoo! I am still basking in the afterglow from the 2007 NYC shows, can’t wait to experience this bunch. 🙂

1) What is “A Night With?”
It means that because these shows have two sets they will be longer shows so there will be no opener on these shows.
2) Will they be recorded?
I would like to but still have to get the permission to do so.
3) Special guests?
Hard to say but invitations will certainly be extendedIf anyone has anymore questions about these shows–or anything for that matter–just let me know.

August 3, 2009 at 2:40 pm #40373Disco StuParticipantThanks very much for the info, Tom. I would love to make it to all three nights of the Chicago run, but given that it’s about a two and a half hour drive for me and I have to work all week, I think two is probably my limit. The first show especially sounds intriguing…would love to hear some really rare stuff from Ramblin’ and Happy Woman Blues.
And the Milwaukee show on 9/22 will be a nice warm-up for me. I love the Pabst and remember how good her show was when I saw her there in ’07.
