Back from Lucindas concert at the Blue Balls Festival.
Unfortunately, I am not able to provide all of you with the correct setlist. I was not allowed to bring my bag (where my paper and pen was to write down the setlist..) into the concert hall. And then, after the show, before I could politely ask for a setlist of one of the musicians, there were several people literally jumping on the stage and grabbing one 😕 Maybe one of those people can provide the forum here with the correct list……

From my memory, the following songs have been played:

    1. Real Love

    Then, in no correct order:

Right in Time, Well Well Well, Tears of Joy, Drunken Angel, I lost it, 2 cool, Blue (Which was, for me, the highlight of the show), Out of Touch, Essence, Changed the Locks, Real Live Bleeding fingers, Honey Bee, Come on, Pineola.

(Band introduction. Lu thanked us for coming and told us, that it was her first time in the city of Lucerne and how gorgeous it was)
    16. Joy
    17. Righteously

    Encores:
    18. Little Rock Star
    19. It’s a long way..

The concert started 8.15 p.m. and lasted until 9.55 pm, so Lucinda and her band have played for about 100 minutes.

As you see from the songs played, it was a solid rock show. Lucinda looked and sounded great.
But: As the concert hall of the congress centre, where Lucinda’s concert took place, is an all seated hall, I thought Lucinda would opt to play more of her slower, more introspective songs (Which I would have preferred, as I particularly LOVE the “Essence” and “West” albums..).I was wrong. And so it was quite strange to have to sit listening to a rock concert and from time to time I would also have preferred a more “subtle” sound. Her new guitarist is wonderful (he got applause several times during the show) but, in my opinion, showing off a little bit too much.
All in all, I preferred Lucinda’s last concert in Switzerland in Nov. 2007 at the Avo Session. Still,Lucinda’s concert in Lucerne was a good, although not great show.
