The performing arts center in Mesa is my favorite hall in the city. The sound is amazing and Lucinda commented several times about the acoustics. The set list was well-rounded and she covered her entire career. This is my first time seeing the new lineup and I was not disappointed. There were new rhythms and textures to most of the arrangements and David Sutton’s playing is always a highlight. My personal emotional high was the last number, a cover a Hendrix’s Angel. It crystalized ever reason why I keep returning to Lucinda’s music. It was just an artist alone on a stage with her heart on her sleeve. Thanks for another great show Lucinda.
I purschased two live CD’s after the show but was told that I could not take advantage of the discount because the vendor was “too busy”. Sour note. I plan on purchasing the “Coltrane lyric” t-shirt on line. Is the offer still available via the on-line store?
I made the purchase from some anonymous vendor in the lobby. Didn’t get a name or raise a complaint. Just wanted the CD’s. Like other huge fans, I want all 10 live shows from 2007. I am hoping to redeem the discount on line. Looking forward to the next show.
