Sorry if this has already been brought up! There is a rumor floating around that Lucinda Williams is going to have a few songs available on the Rock Band platform. My friends and I love Rock Band and hope it is true. It is a great way to introduce an artist’s music to teenagers and young adults….. and a few not so young!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows any details? Like which songs, when they would be released…. etc.

Thanks and keep rocking Lucinda! I catch your show everytime you are in town and I think that you are among the great songwriters that America has produced!

Wish I could help you out, but (and I’m sure I am either really dating myself here and / or unabashedly displaying how out of touch with popular culture I am), but I don’t know what “the Rock Band platform” is.

Nonetheless, I agree with your last statement wholeheartedly!

    Thanks for the reply.

I guess that I should have gone into more detail 😀 .
Rock Band is a music rhythm game (similar to Guitar Hero but better in my opinion). They have a music store similar to the I-Tunes platform where they sell music for 1.99 a song. The rumor is that Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, and the Drive By Truckers are going to be making songs available for purchase on the Rock Band store…. kind of an Alt country pack.

I was just curious if there was any truth to the rumor….

Ah, the video game – I actually have heard of it (not seen it or played it, however – I’m not into video games). I just didn’t realize it had it’s own online music store…

Just an update… Rock Band has announced that Can’t Let Go (from the masters of the album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road) is being released next week on the PS3 and X-Box for their game. If you have kids with the game, download it and play it with them.
