I thought the Charlotte show was awesome – Lu, you looked and sounded great !!! Loved the new stuff – looking forward to the CD release & looking forward to seeing you perform on Letterman this week. Be safe on the road & hurry back to “my neck of the woods” !
Not sure if this is exact, but this is the setlist I was given –
Real Love
Steal Your Love
Tears of Joy
Concrete & Barbed Wire
Jailhouse Tears
People Talkin’
Out of Touch
Little Rock Star
Essence
Come On
Changed the Locks
Bleeding Fingers
Honey Bee
Joy
Righteously
Well, Well, Well
I Live My Life
For What it’s Worth
Long Way to the Top* I’m sure a “standing crowd” is a different vibe
from a seated venue …
none the less, I thought Lu & the guys rocked Charlotte !!!
really hated for the show to end –October 1, 2008 at 4:25 am #37396RainydaymanParticipantThanks LWOM. That was indeed a good show, in spite of the rather quiet crowd.

Thanks,

The opening band is Buick 6, which is also Lucinda’s band. So they play a set without her, take a break, and return to the stage with her.October 1, 2008 at 6:13 pm #37400kcr777ParticipantHey Rainydayman! Thanks so much for the info!!!
October 1, 2008 at 6:17 pm #37401RainydaymanParticipantmy pleasure

I would not say the crowd was quiet at all. It is a large hall and was, I would guess, less than half full. But the folks that were there responded enthusiastically. And I agree, it was a great show.
October 3, 2008 at 1:15 pm #37403RainydaymanParticipantWell, I guess it’s a matter of perception. On the fourth row I’m limited to only seeing those in front of me and most of them sat motionless. Some of us had to pull their hooting and hollering weight for them. Remember at some point Lucinda said, “Is everybody okay?” as if we were dead or something. And then she said, “I like it when y’all yell,” presumably because she felt we needed encouragement.
Oh well……hey how about Lu on Letterman last night? And I guess Letterman really liked Butch’s drumming.
October 3, 2008 at 1:52 pm #37404bonesParticipantI was fourth row left of center and thought the show and the crowd was good. It was a Monday night – Lu also acknowledged that while she was speaking. Hell, they were dancing in the aisle beside of me when they were allowed to come down toward the stage near the end of the show.
