Purchased a couple of tickets to the Raleigh NC show at Progress Energy Center. Show is supposed to start at 7 pm with Buick 6 opening. What time should it end? Trying to arrange a babysitter on a Tuesday night and it’s a school night. regards, David

I had to leave at about 10:20 and she was still going strong. So that is not terribly helpful but since no one else had responses I figured I would share that. I hated to have to leave so early.

September 30, 2008 at 4:16 pm #37365paul_from_losangelesParticipantThe Knoxville show was ticketed for 8:00. Buick 6 started about 8:15, and played about 35 minutes. Lucinda started about 9:20 and played until 11:30, including the encore.

September 30, 2008 at 6:08 pm #37367Inside JobParticipantThe show should be over by 1030
September 30, 2008 at 9:22 pm #37368RayParticipantYou gotta love it: the artist’s manager chiming in so that a fan can make babysitter arrangements! Seriously, that’s great. 8)
PS: I’ll bet Paul_from_LA very stealthily appears at many shows that we don’t hear about…. 8) 8)
October 3, 2008 at 7:21 am #37369Hot_BloodedParticipantHas Buick 6 really been playing for a solid hour? That’s kind of a while for an opener. I’m a little worried about my mom complaining about that since she doesn’t typically stay up late on weekends, but she’s willing to come to this show anyway because she’s become as taken with Lucinda as I have. 🙂
October 3, 2008 at 3:38 pm #37370wireless200ParticipantBuick 6 (which happens to be Lucinda’s band) played about 40 minutes. Show was supposed to start at 7 but started at 7:20 and they play until about 8:10. Lucinda started at 8:30 and basically finished before encore at 10:00. We heard the first part of the first encores song for a few minutes after 10 but had to leave due to the babysitter needing to be home by 10:30.
Overall a great concert. The Raleigh Memorial auditorium is great too. Lucinda said a couple of times how good the acoustics were. “I love the way the band sounds up here and the way my voices sounds.”
She didn’t play Righeously but no big deal. She seemed a little slow at first but got warmed up. I expect all us 40 and 50 somethings take a little longer to rev up these days. (Three Dog Night was like that when I saw them in the 80s.)
Every song was a litle better than the one before until about 45 minutes into it I was saying to myself “this is a great concert.”
She had a little patter between songs and talked briefly about the election but without being partisan. She’s for Obama but wasn’t pushing that angle. She was just wanting everyone to vote and talked about how she’d talked someone into voting that hadn’t planned to. Definitely not pushy. She has a real good friendly stage demeanor. My wife like the show and that made it all the better. regards, David
