Opening act Lucinda Williams got things off to a fine start as well with a 55-minute set that included fan favorites such as “Right in Time” and “Real Live Bleeding Fingers and Broken Guitar Strings,” as well as a rendition of “Out of Touch” that showcased lead guitarist Doug Pettibone. She ignored her latest album, last year’s West, but Williams did previewed some new songs, including the moody “Little Rock Star” and the gritty “Honey Bee,” slated for a new album that’s due in October.

And she finished with an off-the-setlist surprise, a rootsy take on AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).”

Thanks, Lafayette, for this link and for your comments about Lucinda and the crowd in Michigan. Will we be hearing from you after the Cincinnati show as well?

Absolutely! Cincinnati is my hometown. Really looking forward to the show. Will be my last one seeing Lucinda. Sort of bummed about that, none of her headlining dates have her coming near here, at least for now.

Lafayette – Thanks for the ongoing Lucinda commentary. I’m looking forward to the Cincinnati show as well, although I didn’t book early enough to get great seats. I’m in the first row of the center of section 800, so at least I should have a great view of the stage. The AC/DC finale sounds a little different for Lu, but it sounds interesting.

    Hey stevarino,

I can bring you down for Lucinda’s set. Message me your information, where you are sitting (I’m hoping I know how to open). I have front row for this show thanks to a friend of mine . I may not be able to get you in front row, but pretty close for just her set. A ton of my friends are going and there are usually a few empty seats around us.

The AC/DC cover is great. I was up dancing to that one in Detroit.
