….(he must of been listening to C’mon…hee-hee!) i apologize for being on the defensive, but get sooo tired of the female bashing mentality. it seems to me that when you have a powerful, independent and intelligent women that has allot to offer…people just can’t stand it!!!..HA!…wait till hillary becomes president. i’ll be doing the i told you so dance and will have the biggest smirk on my face the rest of the year!!!……WOW!…wouldn’t that be cool at the inaugural party if hillary sang JOY while flim-flammin’ on a flappy while bill and miller are over in the corner cutting the rug….(ya know..like it was when bill played sax with fleetwood)….to cool…then there is the infamous lyric smyric book……who gives a flying frog what neil or bob or tom, dick and harry does for that matter! (forget i said tom)
we’re talking LUCINDA WILLIAMS here…GURU LU…GODDESS OF GUTS….ST. LUCINDA,….shall i go on?…i’ll refer to the lyric sheets
as lucinda’s BIBLE…cause’ to me it contains some of “THE GREATEST WORDS EVER WRITTEN”…amen!…ACL show lucinda mentioned in an interview how nervous she was…(“nervousness is another form of perfectionism”-martha stewart)…in angst of the overwhelming cameras…
simple enough explanation to me….how juvenille to think she doesn’t care….i have never know of any other musician to give of
themselves as lucinda does….the spilling of her gut wrenching music, not to mention her soul, never ending shows on tour, and if you’ve
seen her LIVE she will give you at least 4 or 5 encores, WOW, reviews, this forum…(i must commend the lu crew…they too deserve an emmy) etc, etc. and another thing!!!!…just kidding… oh i almost forgot!…in lieu of the rumors about substance abuse…yes indeed lucinda is guilty…the substance she has been indulging in goes by the name of tom, overby that is…hee-hee!…however, i would like to share my personal feelings about LW’s BIBLE: my first venue with LW was at the fl theatre…the sound was IMPECCABLE…she went over to her music stand, flipped thru it once and never returned to it… that was one of the coolest things i’d seen on any stage…the whole atmosphere was just so overwhelming to me. i felt as though i was with a long lost relative (kindred spirits) in a living room with such an inspiring mentor…(LW’s BIBLE is very similar to the one i have when i studied jazz guitar and theory)..NEXT time i saw the BIBLE was in a photo of her on stage at radio city music hall in NY..i thought WOW..i’ve seen that live too!…kinda silly, but true!…Next it was on stage when i saw her at the HOB, new orleans….she never looked at it once…as if it didn’t even exist….Next time i saw the BIBLE on stage at the town hall gig (last gig of states tour) she played around with it a little, but the most attention it got that night was when it fell over because Lucinda and band jammed so hard on HONEYBEE…so ya see it will never go away and it shouldn’t…that is a part of LW…F#@KIN’…”A”…when i finally get good enough and deal w/my stage fright…i’ll be up there w/my BIBLE dedicating a song that i wrote for LW, flipping thru the sheets saying “LUCINDA TAUGHT ME WELL” knowing i’ll get a rise from the audience. and if anyone doesn’t like my intro…they can kiss my lilly white, french behind!!!!…i chatted up lucinda and tom after the last town hall gig and all i can say is LW has never looked healthier and happier and that tom overby is a true gentleman (rare find) and that they really compliment each other….spiritual, loving, open & centered…….what the world needs NOW is LOVE sweet LOVE….thanks for the welcome but want to clarify FIEND…as in insanely addicted to something…fetish maybe? example: the restaurant’s owner is a wine fiend.……it does look like i left out the “R” as in friend, but that is NOT the case!!…i spelled it fiene and spell check, checked me on it, maybe i should have lu crew change the spelling because i can’t…interesting how 1 letter in a word changes the whole meaning. One thing i love about LW is her perfectionism…i too work hard at it. i believe it is an aquarian trait that we share as an artist, mann! yea i know i spelled it with two “n’s” 8)
Well Lefty..I reckon that all this crap posted about Lu, that Fiend talks about, is best dealt with by ignoring it and the people who post this stuff do not deserve the time of day. because I certainly have better thing to do than get involved in such inane “topics”.
I prefer to concentrate my efforts to helping other poeple “discover” Lucinda, as in md5332 (new to lucinda) topic..and try to introduce at least one person per week to Lucinda in my little crusade..it is an absolute crime that she does not get wider coverage, especially here in the UK.And yes Fiend…with posts like that..you are a Friend.
