Just wondering what happens to the old posts, and why the site doesn’t have them going back very far…. I’d be interested in reading what folks were saying more than a few months ago. Searching for SonO’s old posts got me poking around at some of the older topics on this board, which are worth reading, but they only go back to earlier this year. Why doesn’t the site keep older threads up? (File storage is dirt cheap these days — can’t be that…)

Also, years ago, I remember joining a previous official Lucinda Williams site (never posted) which Tim mentioned too, regarding SonO. Is that site archived — or lost to the ether?

Not that the secrets of the universe are here, but it would be interesting to go back and see what folks were saying about earlier tours, shows and releases….

Ray, No-one seems to have replied to your query re old posts. I too was looking for an old post from Nov last year but it’s no longer there. Pity. At the time I asked for some info on where Lucinda buys her guitar straps, particularly the one she wears in the Austin City Limits DVD from 1998. Well someone was kind enough to tell me it was a Jodi Head strap. As I was planning a trip to New York I decided to look up Jodi Head’s shop on East 4th St. Unfortunately it turned out to be an apartment building and not a shop at all. I think maybe that was taking the fan thing a bit too far!!. Probably couldn’t afford a beaded strap anyway.

elspeth: I hope you had a good adventure looking for that strap at least, even if the destination turned out to be a dead end. 🙂

There is interesting stuff buried here. It may be esoteric and arcane, possibly incorrect or out of date… but still… from great music recommendations to equipment to beaded guitar straps (who knew?) to uploads of torrent files. Happy surprises, all. Lu’s fans can be a thoughtful, witty and passionate bunch. I’ve enjoyed some older threads, smiling and laughing out loud at a few. There are probably others curious to go back further as well…. Where’s the Lucinda Williams site historian when you need him/her?!
