😀 I just got home from the AMAZING Bossier City concert… I’m so sleepy, but I’m full of some sort of energy. If you were at tonight’s concert, you may know what I mean. I’ve been a Lucinda fan for several years and already knew that she’s one of the absolute best singer/songwriters ever, but My God! what a hell of a live show she put on tonight. I’m not one for being so moved that I feel the need to tap my feet very often, but tonight I not only tapped my feet, I got up out of my seat and shook my legs and I think maybe even swayed my hips. Charlie Louvin was a wonderful, unexpected surprise. I loved Lucinda before tonight, but hearing her mention Emmylou and Nina Simone, and being treated to the legendary and very funny Charlie Louvin made tonight a very special night in my life. Thanks, Lucinda!!! I can’t wait for your next nearby show!

Really good show. Opened with Pineola and then said she’d put together a setlist heavy on the Louisiana stuff before going into Lake Charles. Then did Bus to Baton Rouge, Crescent City, The Nights Too Long, Greenville…. They did Concrete/Barbedwire, 2 Kool, Bumblebee, Where Is My Love, Car Wheels, (order?). I’m forgetting several. Then Joy which included a verocious guiatar jam at the end between Doug and the other guy (sorry don’t know name?). Very talented picker. That lead into Riders on the Storm which was an odd closer. Came back out to do a Fats Domino song and Get Right with God with Charlie Louvin. Charlie sang a couple verses and they chorused together then two-stepped a bit. Lucinda grabbed some sticks and starting banging on the drums then did a little jig around by herself while the band was wailing. They only flubbed once on the entrence to Concrete (I think) but ploughed through it and did not start again.

She was very upbeat allnight and the band was absolutely smoking. They were super tight and she seemed reaaly pleased with the sound they got. With zero radio play and with what I’m betting was her first show ever in Shreveport/Bossier a pretty decent crowd turned out for a wed night. Seemed to be happy to be playing through Louisiana again tho’ I doubt very seriously it was amoung the best crowds ever as she said. Probably says that to all the guys.

Lucinda -and the whole band for that matter, considered it to be a great audience -one of the best on this tour, and one of the best in quite awhile.
