Frankly, I’d take Charlie and Larry back. Bob’s new band is great, but I was spoiled with a dozen or so shows of Charlie/Larry.
It would be nice to find an article detailing what kind of equipment Doug uses….guitars, effects, amps, influences…etc
I’ve written Guitar Player magazine in the hopes they’d do an article.

She ordained the event a festival and acted accordingly, joking with her band members, waving to her fans like a guerrilla Rose Parade princess and welcoming drop-ins from Lucinda Williams’ guitarist, Doug Pettibone; veteran producer-musician Andy Paley; and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, who pretty much took over the bass and added plaintive trumpet to “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
Carrie Rodriguez is playing the Pier on Thursday night. Maybe Doug & Lucinda will stop by and see her. They had some interesting jams in April when Carrie was opening for them.
Note that Carrie also plays the Hotel Cafe the following night, Friday the 24th. The Hotel Cafe books artists for 1-hour slots, and Carrie plays the opening hour at 8 PM. (www.hotelcafe.com; read the FAQ for some amusing notes.)

Dead: hmmm I’ll keep this one kind of short: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Frank Zappa, Robert Johnson etc…. which Doug cannot even hold a candle to any of these guys.
Don’t get me wrong though, Doug is very talented, but not one of the greats of all time, sorry.
