I saw Carrie Rodriguez at The Iron Horse in Northampton, MA last night. She put on a tremendous show. She did most of the songs from “Seven Angels On A Bicycle”, some songs from her albums with Chip Taylor, and ended the night with a great version of “Today I Started Loving You Again”. She’s soaked with talent and getting better all the time. She mentioned that she’s been writing songs with her two band members and will be going into the studio this fall to record again.

May 21, 2009 at 6:54 pm #32786paul_from_losangelesParticipantI had previously described Carrie’s San Pedro show in the “Steal Your Love” thread on this forum, last updated May 9. Subsequently, I neglected to report on Carrie’s May 10 show, on Mother’s Day night at McCabes in Santa Monica. For this performance, Carrie’s band was joined on drums by Don Heffington, who formerly backed Lucinda, among many other artists. Again, “Steal Your Love” was enhanced on steel guitar by Luke Jacobs from Romantica.

I missed a Lu show in Buffalo late April 2007 with Carrie on fiddle opening for Lu.

A little more research on Carrie leads me to believe everyone in the better music circles is somehow connected with Lu. Here she is on the fiddle from the Hayseed band playing along with good old bassist “Hombre” Price back in 2001[attachment=0:3r6afahd]Carrie Rodriguez Hayseed Hombre SXSW ’01.jpg[/attachment:3r6afahd] That’s Hombre not Mombre spAnd further here you can listen to several interviews with Carrie from mvyradio (Independent radio located in Martha’s Vineyard) -If you search their archives y’all will find Lucinda there along with many other favorites.
